Doing my part to make the world a better place—whether it be by a total epiphany or a simple smile—I've found a hobby in leaving simple Post-it notes. On these Post-its are written words of kindess, love, and encouragement, in hopes that it may bring a little light to whoever may find it. Since this objective took flight, I've additionally enjoyed simply sharing daily occurances that make life beautiful. Do take what you can from my silly, messy, and scatterbrained story. If nothing else, may it encourage you to embrace your own.

No Excuses!

Hey-o!

Blah... Blogging has been really slow lately, huh? I'm super excited to finish up the winter sports season and move into spring, that's for sure! It'll be so nice to have more time, thus hopefully more notes/posts.

But for the time being, one note every once in a while is one note every once in a while. Better delayed than never!

This pink, little note went up today in the girls' bathroom! I really like that quote--it's convicting! No excuses, right?Notice: That is NOT my normal handwriting. I must disguise it to draw as little attention to myself as possible... Maybe I should invent a pseudonym.

Anyway, enjoy! Hope you had a lovely Monday. The worst part is over. :-)

Been Awhile

Hellooo to you!

Raise your hand if you haven't blogged in an outrageously long time...

Yes, don't worry, my hand is raised. Sorry about my lack of posting, I'm going to try to be better about it over the next couple weeks. We'll see!

I DO have a cute "note" to share with you, though.

Back story: My younger sister (9 yrs.) and I were sitting in church last Sunday. Picture a 17-year-old already at her whits end about her obnoxious siblings, trying to follow a sermon that is not holding interest in her head. That was me in the moment. My sister leaned over and tapped me on the shoulder. Turning to her with probably one of the most intimidating scowls EVER, she asked me to write someone "nice about God" on the back of her bulletin. I didn't even know what that meant, but she went on to tell me that I should just write "you know, something good about God... Like something you would keep in your car." (Bahaha! That last part made me laugh.) So... I did. I wrote "God can't love you more, and He won't love you less." Evidently, she didn't understand it at first because she proceeded to say, "That's mean!" at first. Then I told her to re-read it and she smiled as she (hopefully!) understood the meaning. Anyway, at this point, I still didn't know why she had me write it.

And then--drum roll, please--she stuck the bulletin in a pew pad (The registry booklet in every isle that people are suppose to write their names when they attend church) She looked at me with the biggest grin on her face. Clearly, I was about as happy as a Hallmark card around the holidays! She's catching on. ;-)

Looks like the Post-it Effect might just ripple right on through the family.

Hopefully I'll be back soon, with some more notes. Until then, stay classy!

Fate

Hello, hello!

Did anyone notice that in my last post, I claimed to have posted two different notes, but had two pictures of the same Post-it? Well, I did. About a week later. Ooops! I truly did post two notes... And just accidentally uploaded the same one twice. Dangit!

Today, I have one note for you, and to be honest, it probably wouldn't have gone up without this irritating/annoying/drive-Meagan-crazy story...

So, currently, my family of four is sharing one car. It. Stinks. Between my busy schedule including school, sports, work, and other extra curriculars, while still trying to maintain a social life + my dad, his schedule, and my younger brother and sisters needs/wants. Aaah! Anyway, my dad's car is MIA, so he's been using mine. I normally buy gas for myself around every two weeks (sometimes I can stretch it more!), however, with this whole car-sharing idea, we whipped through gas in one week. Angry at the circumstances, I expected my dad to fill up the tank. My dad already has expressed that he would get gas tomorrow, because he needed my car for the day. Buuut, Tonight I worked and realized I couldn't find my phone when I got home. Assuming I left it, I drove back to work, which was closed at that point, to look for my phone. I had no luck finding it, but I was lucky enough to have my gas light go on, meaning that I had to fill up the car this time. I was a little frustrated (especially with gas being $3.15. Ugh.)

Has this story been enough complaining and moaning and groaning yet? Well, keep reading...

At the pump, I wrote out a lovely Post-it note. It literally changed my attitude.
YES, it was cold. And YES, I was upset about my current situation. And NO, I never found my phone at work. In fact, I ended up finding it when I returned home...

I have a good feeling about that note. I think that God would only send me out to look for a phone that was at home and to fill up a tank of gas that my dad should have filled... So that I could leave a note at that specific gas station for someone who needs it. Right? Right.

Anyhoo... I'm off to de-stress a little bit. Not sure how... But I'll figure something out!

Have a lovely week!

Catching Up

Hi, hi, hi!

So over the course of the week I successfully was able to get two notes up...

As well as completely procrastinate blogging about them.

It was one of those weeks where every day that I didn't have some extra going on after school/practice, I said to myself, "Meagan, you should really just go home and take a nap." Guess how many times that happened? No, unfortunately, not once. That's okay, though - I think we caught up this weekend. And by "we" I mean... My sleep and I? Yes, I might be schizophrenic.

Anyhoo, here they are! Both notes went up in the AM at school. Enjoy!- I thought this note was cool because it went on the mirror and the message was referring to the reader's eyes... Which they would see in the mirror... In the reflection. Get it? Don't have to tell me I'm clever twice! Once is enough. ;-)- Fun fact about this note: It took me about three tries to spell "proportion" correctly. Gaaah! It was early, though. So there.

You have an awesome week and try to stay warm! Wisconsin cannot be the only state getting hit with these cold temps! Actually... It would. Hahaha! G'night!

New year, New notes

Happy New Year!!

I'm truly excited to start a new year. It's hard to believe that it's already 2011 and that there have been over ONE HUNDRED notes posted just through this blog. And what's even cooler? I'm not the only one who can take credit!

In fact... Brittany sent me another note this evening and I considered waiting until I had a note to post with hers, but by the time I pulled up the picture I HAD to put it up! She's. The. Best.
It says, "This number DOES NOT signify your worth. You are more than your weight." First of all, it went up at the gym she works out at. Secondly, how cool is it that it is right on the scale? You cannot miss it. And you HAVE to go through that message of truth before you can even read the number. I couldn't think of a better first note of the new year!

That is why I blog.

Well, that's all I have for you on this chilly, wintry night! Wish I had a note... But soon, soon.

Here's to 2011 - More notes in more places for more people! Here's to a ripple effect that is literally changing lives. I wouldn't believe anything less.

So cute!

Hola!

So... To be honest, I didn't think I'd be posting again before the turn of the new year. However, I left a note today and just HAD to get it up!

The next few days are sort of busy, so this should be high enough on the cute-ness scale to make-up for my assumed web absence...So colorful & happy! It went on one of those claw games at the store. (Fun fact: I used to be weirdly good at that game as a child. True story.) And I just like the message... I suppose that's most important, right? ;-)

Have a lovely last few days of 2010! Remember:

Every great dream
begins with a dreamer.
Always remember,
you have within you the strength,
the patience, and the passion
to reach for the stars
to change the world.
-Harriet Tubman

Possibly a resolution for the new year? :-) I think so.

Merry, Merry Christmas!

First off, Wishing you & yours a very happy holiday!

I hope you had a lovely day of relaxation and good laughs with family & friends. The day turned out pretty nicely over here and now I'm just hanging out and trying to talk my body out of hating me for the choice of food intake over the last couple days! ;-)

I think Christmas EVE has become my favorite holiday. Does that count as a holiday? I LOVE it. I think it has something to do with the fact that excitement was always high on that day as a child... Now it's probably because I have the biggest infatuation with candle light services and the thought of Mary traveling and giving birth that night gives me tingles!

Anyway, I was able to get some notes up on my favorite holiday! If you've known me long enough, you wouldn't even be surprised to know that I was finishing up Christmas shopping on the TWENTY-FOURTH of December. As a disclaimer, I was done... I just needed ONE more thing. Well... while searching for my "one more thing," one more thing turned into "Gee, betchya I could get a cute Christmas outfit on sale!" (Which I did!) Anyway, that lead me to the dressing room where I left this array of Post-it notes.

And then... As if on cue... I get an email from Britt with a picture of a note she'd left, too! Great minds think alike. Hers went up at on the mirror in locker room of gym she works out at. Neat idea, huh?!

Good vibes are just zipping around this holiday season.

Well I'm off to read a book. Have yourself a Merry little Christmas & (if I don't post before...) a blessed new year!
