Doing my part to make the world a better place—whether it be by a total epiphany or a simple smile—I've found a hobby in leaving simple Post-it notes. On these Post-its are written words of kindess, love, and encouragement, in hopes that it may bring a little light to whoever may find it. Since this objective took flight, I've additionally enjoyed simply sharing daily occurances that make life beautiful. Do take what you can from my silly, messy, and scatterbrained story. If nothing else, may it encourage you to embrace your own.

So many notes, So little time!

Happy Thursday!

So, I have two notes for you... But they were posted on different days - My schedule just didn't allow for blogging!
This first note was put on the wall at the hospital. Lately, more than ever, I pretty much live at the doctor's office! Besides the fact that I'm sure I have every life threatening disease there is... I seem to always been there in physical therapy for some limb or another. I literally know most of the staff on a first name basis... And they all give me a friendly "Hey Meagan!" every time I enter the building. Is that bad?

The second note I just put up yesterday at a local Target. By "local" I actually mean I had to drive 35 minutes to get there... No big deal.

Anyway, I was browsing through the make-up isle and left this little bundle o' love on one of those advertisements above all the beauty products!

My friend talked me into putting my blog web-address on the back of this note for the first time in Post-it Effect history. I've always been a little skeptical when it comes to leaving my web-address because I don't want it to seem like an advertisement or look like I want credit for what I do. However, my friend reminded me that by seeing the blog, other people could become even more encouraged and begin something similar. So... I'll try it a few times!

Okay, well just as an F.Y.I., I'm working at camp for the weekend, the vet Sunday evening, and then shipping off to attend ANOTHER camp bright and early on Monday for the rest of the week. Sooo... Blogging maybe be a bit scarce over the next week or two. However, that doesn't mean note leaving has to be, right?

Have a lovely evening!

No-Name Restaurants

Hiiii there!

Today's post is going to be a quick one... I'm watching some kiddos and should be leaving the house in a few! Should is the key-word... As time-sensitive as I am, I all too often find myself rushing to get where I'm going! But... I always get there on time. ;-)

This lovely note went on the door handle of a bathroom. I went with a few friends out for lunch (I do not remember what it as called. Some small, family-owned Italian place.) and decided to leave a note. I actually pre-made this sticky in the car. I was excited to give it a home!

Alright, well there you are! Wish I could elaborate on my super life (Sarcasm present), but I have some babies to sit on. Bahaha - I'm so funny.

Peace out!

The More, the Merrier!

Good afternoon to you!

The last few days have been a little go, go, go-ish! But that's okay - I also appreciate them when I go through my "boring" phases.

Anyway, yesterday, I spent a little time in the cities with a couple friends. I drove up with my friend, Tim, and met Liz, Keaton, and Laura in their suburban city they live in! It was such a nice break from my small-town life. :-)

I know I've mentioned it before, but Liz and Laura happen to be two of the very few people who know about my Post-it leaving. In addition to those of you who may be reading this, there's only about 4 (including them) who know about my sneaky endeavor!

Laura (Being the super girl she is!) gave me a whole stack of new Post-its. Her dad works for the company and had some easy hook-ups. Ha. I was in HEAVEN! I have quite the collection and I do plan on using them all. ;-)

After having a lovely supper at Liz's house, we headed out to get some ice cream. Liz, Laura, and I talked about leaving a few notes before leaving the house... And were beyond excited when the opportunity arose! Let me just tell you that it's WAY harder to leave anonymous notes in a big city... Because people are everywhere! It was quite the excitement.

The two green notes are ones that Liz wrote - she's a natural! And the blue one is mine. :-) (Aren't those lovely colors? The neon yellow I've had for awhile... And the blue came from Laura!)

As you can see, we littered the Dairy Queen bathroom with Post-its! I love Post-it litter...

Well, I'm off to work at camp for the weekend! Liz will be working, too... Expect a Post-it follow-up from us!

Have a lovely weekend!

Mark it Down

Hi!

Say what? Two days in a row!? Has someone hacked my blog account?

No, silly! It's just regular, old me who so happened to have another "Post-it" opportunity, in which I was prepared to leave a note.

I needed to make a run to Wal-mart (Between you and me, I cannot stand Wal-mart. I will avoid it at all costs, however, I needed a new car battery and Wal-mart happened to have the cheapest one in the area. Side note: Some might also refer to me as a cheapskate. I probably am... Who knows if a battery is the right thing to bargain hunt for. But oh well!)

Anyyyway, while at Wal-mart I decided to leave a note, in hopes it would not only land in the lap of someone who needed it, but also to relieve all my bad Wal-Mart vibes that seemed to be circling my head. I stuck this lovely sticky note on the bathroom mirror...

On another note (Baha! No pun-intended), I received a very exciting email from my friend, Brittany, today! She, being the wonderful, thoughtful woman she is, left two Post-its over a little outing she took! Notice her use of the star sticky note... Not to mention the sand "Post-it" that may just go down in Post-it Effect history as the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Yep. She's a little on the awesome side.

Oh! And since she happened to leave the web-address on one of her notes, I have exciting Operation Beautiful news! (In case you weren't aware, Operation Beautiful was pretty much the inspiration for my little blog. I think I mention it a little bit in my first blog-post.) Operation Beautiful is going to be aired on The Today Show on August 5th at 10:00 AM. How exciting is that!? I'll be out of town that week... But you know I'll scout out a TV when the hour rolls around. Fun stuff.

Alright, well so far my day has been semi-productive...

Physical therapy: check
Replace car battery: check
Attempt to catch a few rays of sun: check (Or is that a not-check because it didn't really work... Hmmm.)

I think now I'll continue my venture in clearing out my room. And maybe do something fun and go get ice cream or something later. My life has been sort of "blah" lately.

Have a wonderful afternoon!

So, here's my story from A to Z...

(The Spicegirls will never, ever get old.)

Why, hello!

Yes, I'm still alive. Still kickin' (And no, not the bucket.)

I've come to the miraculous conclusion that my summers are much more busy than the school year. How that pans out, I'm not really sure. But it's obvious by my lack of blogging, posting, and general sched.

What have I been doing with all this time in which I seem to forget that I leave encouraging notes for other people? Glad you asked.

For the most part, I've been playing sports - exception on the "playing" because my back it still on the fritz - attending would be a better word. I work at camp for the rest of the month every weekend, not to mention working at the vet and that I've picked up multiple days for other people. It's all good though - I have a car to fix!

As far as being productive around my house, I pretty much rearranged my room. It's starting to look like it belongs to the "today-ME" instead of the 11-year-old Meagan it was looking like. I implemented some new book shelves, framed a few recent pictures, and generally reorganized. A little known fact about Meagan Doll: She is an extreme pack-rat. Like THE worst. I'm good about letting go of little gadgets and things like that... However, I still have notebooks/projects from middle school. I save almost all the cards people give me year-round and, up until my big clean-out, every wrist-band/ticket I've ever received. Think there's any A/A type of groups with people with mild sentimental-parting disorders? I need help!

Okay, I bet by now you're wondering if this is just a post to suck-up for my lack of posting and if I even have a picture at this moment...

Well, you're in luck!

I placed this lovely note on the (obvious) soap dispenser this weekend at the camp I work at. After all the kids had gone home on Sunday, I had a little bit of down-time before our final staff meeting and decided to leave a note. Fortunately for you, I was able to snap the picture, but couldn't take multiple shots because my camera died right after. I should probably charge the little fella...

Yes, I'm going through a slight phase where I like to go all-out when it comes to decorating a word or two on my notes. Kind of fun!

Alrighty, well hopefully you understand where my lack of leaving notes is coming from. And you know... If you feel as though there should be more Post-its circling the globe... You could ALWAYS leave one of your own. And if you do, I want a picture of it, you hear? :-)

Until my next note!

Noodles & Notes

Happy 5th of July!

I bet the day after Independence Day feels awful boring, don't you think? I definitely use the 5th to deflate and regenerate after a busy 4th of July weekend.

Who am I kidding? I sound like a goon! Okay, okay... I just needed a witty greeting for this post. You caught me.

As you can see, the note I left today is a little sketchy. Well, it's just hard to read. It does in fact say, "Keep being you... You're the only one!" This is a sure example of my spontaneous posting, however. All I happened to have in my purse was the salmon-colored notes and a thin, orange Sharpie marker! Just my luck, eh?

Anyhoo, this note went in a Noodles & Co. bathroom. A friend and I made a day out of going to the zoo, swinging by the mall, and stopping for some lunch. I went to go wash my hands and decided I'd leave a Post-it... Little did I know I was so unprepared!

I usually keep 2-3 colored stacks of Post-its in my purse and AT LEAST two different colored pens/markers. Today, however, was an exception.

Well, that's that. I hope you had a fabulous holiday weekend. I did a whole lot of working and when I wasn't doing that, I did a whole lot of nothin'!

My highlights would be bonfire s'mores and fireworks from my porch! Those are probably two of my favorite things, in general.

I'm off to keep chuggin' through a book I'm reading...

G'night!

Beach Bummin'

Today's "Post-it" is a little bit different... But I'm super excited about it. :-)

Today, a few friends (Five, to be precise) decided to head on down to the river and swim. Besides being a beautiful afternoon, swimming is about all I can do athletically right now, due to a back injury, so the whole idea was perf!

Anyway, we arrived and after sufficiently whining about the water being cold (Which it was! With the sun beginning to dwindle and a slight breeze, mind you...), us girls decided to slowly wade into the water. Eventually, the boys—with their short level of patience—began splashing, so we decided to wait it out on the sand until they got done with their horse-play.

It was in this moment that I had an idea! Yes, an idea. I began picking up old sticks and smoothing out a nice place in the sand.

"Meagan, what are you doing?"

I must've been asked that about a thousand times. "Making an art project!" I responded every time.

They actually thought it was neat when I was finished... But they weren't nearly has proud of it as I.

Kinda cool, huh? I knew I hadn't left a note for a little while... Okay, a LONG while, but just decided to use what I had on hand—a whole lotta dirt and some sticks!

Even with the wind, it stayed intact the entire time we were swimming, so I'm hoping (With the cooperation of the weather, of course) that other people will get to see it.

It's suppose to be even hotter tomorrow! If you're looking for a place to swim, I just might be able to hook you up... ;-)

That was cheesy. Oh well... That's what happens when you blog at 10:20 at night. I think I'm going to peace out. After I'm done with that (Baha!) I think I'll do my back stretches (Yes, I have to do them... Twice a day, baby! Joy.) and maybe curl up with a book! Or a movie. Or just sleep... Hmmm

Have a great night!
